Mill Hill School is perfectly located in north west London in a very green and safe area but still only 30 minutes to central London. We say it is "London in the countryside". It is seen as the best of both worlds - a blend of tradition and modernity and a real steppingstone for pupils looking to continue onto University in the UK. Our learning community brings boys and girls of different cultures and backgrounds together and helps them to understand the importance of respect in their everyday lives. Mill Hill’s educational philosophy is based on offering breadth and balance, complementing the academic with the co-curricular, the technological with the traditional and individuality with a sense of community. Our boarding community, consisting of more than 200 boarders from over 30 nationalities, is extremely welcoming, friendly and inclusive. Mill Hill School’s sports and music provision are very high-end. Our international boarders transfer to top UK universities including Oxford, Cambridge, Imperial and LSE. We help them to flourish and thrive to reach their potential.
Mill Hill offers a broad education, where academic excellence is complemented by cultural, sporting and social development. Hard work, self-criticism, enthusiasm and loyalty are encouraged in order to support our aim of developing leadership and the acceptance of responsibility.
We firmly believe that the environment in which children are taught and learn is of paramount importance. We are privileged to have a school set in the most beautiful parkland setting, quite unique in London. The teaching facilities at Mill Hill are also of the highest order where traditional buildings are mixed with modern additions.
With close to 900 pupils there is a very lively atmosphere and a real buzz of activity.

Sport
The School has a sports hall, three new Eton Fives courts, hard tennis courts, netball courts, indoor heated swimming pool and a large all-weather pitch, as well as outdoor facilities for rugby, hockey, cricket and football. In addition to its extensive playing fields, Mill Hill has a well-equipped Sports Hall and Gym. Testament to our sporting provision is the partnerships we have with elite sporting organisations: Rugby - Saracens Football - Tottenham Hotspur FC Hockey - GB Men's coach Kwan Browne Netball - Saracens Mavericks Cricket - Middlesex CCC Fencing - Leon Paul Academy Golf - Mill Hill is home to the London Golf Academy. The Director of Golf is a PGA coach and the academy boasts excellent on-site facilities. More details on our partnerships can be found on our website. Many pupils have the opportunity to go on International Sports Tours.
Arts
Art, Music, Drama are all offered as academic subjects but are also at the heart of our co-ciurricular programme. There are extensive opoprtunities to learn new intruments, enhance exisitng skills, take advancteage of London being on your doorstep by visiting museums, galleries and more. International boarders may take part in individual courses, join House competitions, perform in school prodcutions and much more...

Extensive co-curricular activities and leadership opportunities: “The co-curricular programme engenders pupils’ interests as well as develops pupils’ knowledge, skills and understanding. This is a significant strength of the school.” - ISI Inspection Report 2024 Participation in the co-curricular and leadership opportunities is a vital part of every pupil’s experience at the School. We encourage pupils to explore new interests and skills which will change them and stay with them for life. With such a vast offering, from Astronomy Club to Video production, from Rugby to Jazz Band, there is something for everyone. If pupils express a new interest and wish to make a club, we will make happen. Being a small school has the advantage that there are many more opportunities to be selected for leadership roles. From being appointed Prefect to representing the Student Council, there is something for everyone to leave their mark at the School.
Was Töchter und Söhne denkt
Ob die Säulen, von denen man beim Eintritt in die Mill Hill School begrüßt wird, nun eher dorischen, ionischen oder korinthischen Ursprungs* sind, das würde man in dem ungewöhnlich guten Kunstunterricht, der hier angeboten wird, schnell lernen.
Womit gesagt sein will, dass Kunst in all ihren Facetten in Mill Hill eine besonders große Rolle spielt. Was nun allerdings nichts gegen den „normalen“ Unterricht sagen soll; im Gegenteil. Mill Hill ist zwar kein akademisches Hot House, aber schulisch durchaus anspruchsvoll. Man muss also schon was dafür tun, um hier erfolgreich zu sein, allerdings wird man dabei auch bestens unterstützt.
Wer sich nicht im Art Department austoben will, sondern das lieber körperlich tut, für den lässt Mill Hill mit seinem Angebot kaum einen Wunsch unerfüllt. Was sich in einer Elternumfrage bestätigt: „86% of parents rated sports provision at Mill Hill as excellent or very good“. Hätte man die Schüler gefragt, wäre dieses Urteil sicher noch weit positiver ausgefallen.
Wen in der Überschrift die Aussage: „vor den Toren Londons“ neugierig gemacht hat, dem sei gesagt, dass quasi direkt am Schultor der Bus Stop für einen der City Busses ins Herz der Metropole liegt. Inwieweit Schüler den am Wochenende benutzen dürfen, ist erst mal Sache des Alters und dann des Verhandelns mit den Eltern. Geben die ihr OK, ist die City of London gerade mal 25-30 Busminuten entfernt.
Zudem bietet Mill Hill das IB (International Baccalaureate) an.
